I have owned this van since 2004 and it is very solid for its age. Its got a decent 'rat look' with only a few minor bits of rust which are not structurally damaging. The whole van has been regularly 'Ankor Waxed' to preserve its patina and to prevent the spread of any rust.
With the 1776 the van drives lovely and cruises along the motorway with ease, thanks to the steering rack and rear tracking adjustments it suffers from very little drifting compared to a normal splitscreen
It still contains a few of its original Swiss army feature
It has been regularly maintained and serviced by James Wotton.
All mods have been carried out to a professional standard by James Wotton and by Paul Wisk
MOT till November 2011 and Tax till September (tax exempt anyway)

Built details available here Hytesta 59 Swiss Army van

Retro Scene mini feature - Hytesta's 1959 Volkswagen Split Screen
