Finally managed to load pics! Have more though so do let me know if you want anything specific.

We are now relisting our 1969 Devon Caravette after spending another summer with her.

We've now owned this bus for about four years and last year we moved to a house without anywhere to keep her safe and warm, which means she ought to go to a better home.

She has only had 3 previous owners, two of which had her for the first forty years pretty much. She has a full service history and almost every document and bill the van’s ever had. The 1st log book is also present in a large box of information.

She has Porsche 356 alloys, is lowered and has a period correct stereo too. We have done quite a bit of work on her bodywork over the last two years and also fitted 3-point Wolfsberg seatbelts, a leisure battery and hook-up. We replaced the side-vented window with a slider and took off the side step but the originals will come with the bus so you can refit if you want. She had a new reconditioned engine 35,000 miles ago and hasn’t given us any mechanical problems since we bought her. Overall we have spent over £5k on her in four years, much of this on bodywork.

Condition

She is in sound condition however there is some bodywork needed. Much of it would be to get her into mint condition but the are a couple of areas towards the back that will need patching. I have tried to show these in the pics. She has sailed through her last two mots (next one is due in August) and after the winter we had her checked out by our local classic specialist and she needed a new starter motor but otherwise was given a good bill of health. Please do realise though that this is a 45 year old bus, so she doesn't drive like a modern car and her original interior does need to be treated with kindness and respect.

There are a few other areas that need attention : a couple of seals need replacing, the lock on the engine bay needs refitting and a new section of aluminium pole is needed for the pop-up roof.

You could use her really happily this summer and then get the work done in the winter. This is what we would have done if we were keeping her.

The really special thing about this bus is the original interior which is in really good condition and even has the original red leatherette cushions! There is a properly double bed in the pop up roof and another high level double in the back. There’s also a small child sleeping hammock for the cab area.

A camper-specific bike rack (carries 2) is also available.

She is tax exempt, which is nice.

We are based in West Sussex, just off the M23 so viewing is most welcome. PM/email with any questions.

We had her up here for £13k last year, reducing to £11.5k just before the winter. We are now going to sell for £10k firm (which is what we paid).
It's also worth saying that our ad from last year was copied and posted by a fraudulent seller on a couple of classified sites. This (earlybay.com) is the only place she is currently listed so don't reply to an ad anywhere else for her.

Thanks for reading.
