We have for sale an early bay factory high top panel van, 1969 one previous owner R.H.D 11 months M.O.T.
Inside the van is bare except for a bluebird customs rock n roll bed frame which we had fitted, we have had the van for 5 years with restoration in mind but changing circumstances have prevented us from doing this.
included in the sale is a full front door refurb kit (seals etc) and also a set of ply panels for doors and kick boards etc.
the front lower valance and front wheel arches have been replaced and also the cab floor has been patched on both sides.
Prior to us purchasing the van the front jacking points were replaced, other than these items there doesn't seem to be any signs of welding that i can see but there has been the odd attempt to patch up isolated areas on the bodywork.
There are a few small patches of surface rust on the windscreen lower panel, roof gutter (one patch at the front) and the o/s window surround. The tail gate has a larger patch of rust which does look deeper and the engine lid has had a paint reaction and is all cracked.
Hopefully the photo's should show this, The sills appear to be good as does the battery tray, the belly pans are still in place as are the original interior bulk head panels, i have all tax disc's and mot's from the late 80's onward's but this is the full extent of the vans history other than original driver's hand book and the V5.
The engine has had a full service including the plugs, H.T leads, distributor cap, points and also full set of fuel lines and battery.
The fuel gauge is not working and it does leave a little puddle of oil but the van drives lovely, these vans are getting increasingly rare and are becoming more popular now, it would make a great promotional tool or small business venture alternatively a great camper with excellent head room.
We are asking £9000 for the van which is a sum we have been advised by our local VW restorer is a reasonable and fair price, any questions or queries please contact Paul 07944074409 or 01449 401015. Thank you.
loads of photo's on photobucket http://s1148.photobucket.com/user/r00bster/library/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (hope the link works!)
P.S WE ARE IN SUFFOLK>
