1970 Westfalia Pop Top Project For Sale £ 4500

BUS IS LOCATED in tamworth staffs junc 9 M42

1970 Westfalia Pop top :D Picture Heavy :D

I bought this van with the intention of building a full on show bus with new paint, powder coated suspension Everything . The reason I picked it , is because its a virgin van I.e not bodged /welded/messed with by someone else, i looked a quite a few buses before settling on this one . Due to a change of plans and a house purchase, I cant devote a year of my time to completing this restoration as I want so ive decided to offer her up for sale instead . My loss = Your gain

####NOTE: All duties and import taxes have been paid by me and i have ALL the Customs forms to prove this #####

Originally serviced by Tom Bush Volkswagen Inc of Jacksonville Florida the bus is VERY complete and has all the westfalia interior including all the original Mint mustard yellow vinyl .All the tables are there and the sink unit is complete too with coolbox/westy tap/breather to the roof ,Rock an roll bed works just like it should and there is a dealer fitted eberspacer heater fitted under the rock an roll bed . The floor covering is the original but is split from the heat and the buddy seat is there too with possibly the best mustard cushions Ive ever seen ;)
The front seats have been recovered but the door cards are original with 70's speakers let into them, front rubber mat is mint and unripped as it the walkthrough mat . The front cab bunk is mint and the roof cot is there but the original roof pop top canvas is ripped .

Bodywork : I have T cut a patch of the paint and it has come up very well by the drivers door, I cant see with a good polish all the bus shouldnt shine .All roof gutters are mint, The windscreen surround has surface rust and two very small 3mm dia holes in it but is solid the front panel is excellent and all the door shut lines are very good . The front doors and slider and back hatch are mint and have some light rust but no holes in them . the outer sills will require replacement as will the rear quarters in front the rear wheels ,it needs a battery tray ( Dont they all ) but the opposite side is mint . It requires an inner and outer front passenger step and has a fist sized hole in the drivers front floor but the passengers is solid .

The chassis has a hole on either side next to the torsion housing ( This has not affected the torsion housing in any way and it is still very strong with no rust or movement ) Please see the pictures

The engine is 1600 and is complete, BUT unknown. It does has end float but is free and comes with a german solex carb too ;)

Ultimately this is a very good project base for a outstanding bus for some one who has the time to complete it, which at the moment Im sadly lacking in ........

The bus is fairly priced to sell @ £ 4500 O.B.O If I doesnt sell then i will store it till im ready to complete it , but Im sure it will ;)
