A very reluctant sale of my beloved “Red Beaver Busâ€Â
It was made in June 1970 and was originally the same red as it is now. The van has lived in California all its life until May 2006 when it was imported to the UK.
It is UK registered and will have a new MOT on sale and there is tax until November. But as this is a tax free year it costs nothing to renew!
The van is all original except for the lowering. The paint has been redone at some stage in its life but I couldn’t say when. Quite some time ago is my guess.
General condition is good, given that the van is 37 years old! The paint is faded and flat in places. There are plenty of chips and blemishes that I feel enhance the van. The panels are all straight bar the front passenger door ding and another on the right rear.
The nose carries the usual signs of having a spare fitted at some time.
There is a small piece of rust under the front screen and a hole, about 8mm under one arch. The photo shows this.
The interior is all standard except for the CD player and has the front cot bunk, westy stool and the rear mozzy net, cool box and sink.
The pop top canvas is brand new.
The engine is 1600 and was replaced 40,000 miles ago and runs fantastic, I have just replaced the dynamo and battery. There is also the benefit of a 009 with petronix electronic ignition. This makes starting and driving much better. This is a strong engine and I would drive it anywhere.
There are new front heavy duty shocks as the van has been lowered.
I have some spares that will go with the van, some trim for around the rear non-pop section, some spare curtains etc.
I will have the van at beach Buggin
Price £7300 as is £7500 with mondo, header 2 x over riders and anything else I find!
