"Burt" is our lovely brilliant orange/pastel white early bay van who is up for sale due to the purchase of a split screen.
He had one owner from new for 34 years during which time he was very well looked after (and we have 2 log books of all his petrol fills!!!, spark plug changes, services etc etc!) fascinating stuff!!

We have had him regularly serviced, and he is garaged.

He has all his original Devon interior (including the seat cushions in the rear) which I covered but can easily be removed to reveal the original red cloth and black vinyl. I have put some stickers on his windows/interior but these can also be removed, if you so wish. He has his original swing out cooker (with instruction leaflet!), original easicooler and hanging wardrobe seat. We have all the original legs for the table and bed. We had 3 seat belts fitted in the rear. He has two hammock beds and lots of other cupboard space. He has his original radio (with instruction leaflet) which works! - but we have not added any other speakers as we didn't want to cut into his doorcards. He has (VWcurtains.com) curtains fitted with 2 matching cushions! He is MOT'd until January 2009 and taxed (he is tax free) until Feb 2009. We also fitted jail bars to his rear window and a side step. He has beauty rims fitted to his wheels. He has excellent heating !!! and gets really hot when you turn it on - so heat exchangers A OK. He also has a roof rack (which is included in the sale) which is very handy.

His mileage is 122387. He runs really well and has never leaked oil!

We have kept all his receipts for all work carried out whilst we have had him.

He has a few scratches on the wheel arches - but nothing serious, only where we have caught shoes and seat belt buckle and only a few very small rust bubbles and scratches in only a couple of places. He was resprayed before we bought him back in 2006 and he still looks lovely. He has one small rip in the drivers seat.

I have regularly washed and polished him to keep him tip top. He has been wax oiled ( which he has been throughout his life).

We had new roof rubbers fitted to his pop top in 2007, pop-top roof is sound and waterproof, never had any leaks. Good roof lining throughout. He does well on the motorway and travels very happily at 55/60 mph.

He has NEVER let us down and we have had the BEST holidays and weekends away in him and we will be VERY sad to see him go.

PRICE £10,800 ono

*sigh*

this bus would be perfect for us, but I won't have the cash until January at the earliest. Amazing camper you've got there, hope he finds a good home!

Just to put my pennies worth in for this bus. :D

Its a totally solid and cracking example of an earlybay. All the right bits in the right places and has been loved and never stinted upon. Worth every penny of the offer price and I have cruised with it and its always been 100% reliable.

Grab youself a bargain and lets see this go to a good home.

Burt has now had an offer on him - so subject to transaction he is sold.

Thankyou for looking and all the kind words.

Cheers Mrs BurtVW
