Looking for an MOT'd tax free beetle for upto £2k so may consider p/x...

Engine: 1600 VEGE replacement unit 35k miles
Twin Weber 34ICT carbs
Pertronix electronic ignition
Flamethrower coil
Alternator conversion
Split charge system to include leisure battery
Automatic Fire Extinguisher
OG heat exchangers (off a beetle)
Chassis: has had welding in the past but solid now with no advisories on the MOT
outer belly pans removed at some point
centre belly pan is still there but is in poor condition, above belly pan is fine
Running gear: 4 new tyres in October 09
4 new CV joints May 09
new front brake discs May 09
new inner & outer front wheel bearings May 09
Body: Body is painted Neptune Blue under White - paint work poor
evidence of previous repairs starting to show, only a cosmetic problem
front arches good condition
rear arches solid but some bubble rust
cab doors are rotten along the bottom and window scrapers need replacing
cab floor been repaired in patches, starting to look untidy
Interior: Not OG Dormobile but reconstructed in Dormobile style
bed extensions to make full width
spare wheel well turned into safe
no plumbed water, but sink drains through waste pipe under van
two roof bunks present but need recovering
front seats recently reupholstered in leather
Overall: reliable van, just covered 15,300 miles round Europe ( http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16195" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) now my daily driver. Not the cleanest example of a van but easy rolling resto.
