Back up for sale after new MOT and no sale at DubFreeze is my 1972 Dormobile EarlyBay 8)

Looking for an MOT'd tax free beetle for upto £2k so may consider p/x...

Tax (exempt) - June 10
MOT - 19th March 2011

Looking for around £6995 but please make me an offer...

Engine: 1600 VEGE replacement unit 35k miles
Twin Weber 34ICT carbs
Pertronix electronic ignition
Flamethrower coil
Alternator conversion
Split charge system to include leisure battery
Automatic Fire Extinguisher
OG heat exchangers (off a beetle)

Chassis: has had welding in the past but solid now with no advisories on the MOT
outer belly pans removed at some point
centre belly pan is still there but is in poor condition, above belly pan is fine

Running gear: 4 new tyres in October 09
4 new CV joints May 09
new front brake discs May 09
new inner & outer front wheel bearings May 09

Body: Body is painted Neptune Blue under White - paint work poor
evidence of previous repairs starting to show, only a cosmetic problem
front arches good condition
rear arches solid but some bubble rust
cab doors are rotten along the bottom and window scrapers need replacing
cab floor been repaired in patches, starting to look untidy

Interior: Not OG Dormobile but reconstructed in Dormobile style
bed extensions to make full width
spare wheel well turned into safe
no plumbed water, but sink drains through waste pipe under van
two roof bunks present but need recovering
front seats recently reupholstered in leather

Overall: reliable van, just covered 15,300 miles round Europe ( http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16195" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) now my daily driver. Not the cleanest example of a van but easy rolling resto.

Pictures to follow when I have found my camera cable...

Take it you knew I'd have something to say

Hi there,

Looked at your bus previously when up for sale a few months ago, and could be interested again now. Will you be at Volksworld Show?

Dave

Unfortunately not Dave, bit far for me to trek.

Its about to go on ebay tho :(

Gutted for you :(

Does this mean the end of you on this here forum then??

I may take a temporary absence, but once I'm back on my feet another EB will be sought 8) but I'm afraid it could be a while. Before I have any free money to buy another van, I have to pay for a wedding and undoubtedly buy a house sometime in the next few years - hopefully one with a garage tho ;)

I will at the very least be a lurker, but won't have much quality content to post - did I ever...?

What's that got to do with anything........

Well I hope you get a good price and don't suffer to bad on evilbay :D
Good luck with the job hunting and hope the wedding/house buying goes well too ;)

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. I'll keep an eye on E-bay. What work did you do since last for sale before MOT. Trying to get an idea of what will need doing over the next couple of years, and Keighley's a long way from home!

Cheers,
Dave

the chassis is in a good condition, the back end has been tidied up. Future work would be body work, some seams are starting to come through from previous repairs...
