For sale is our awesome 1972 Crossover LHD VW Early Bay CamperVan, “The Colonel”. The van was imported from Oregon, USA in 2011 by SW Splitz. Used every year for holidays and weekends in away in Devon and Cornwall and in 2014 went to La Rochelle on the west coast of France. With an ever-expanding family, the time has come to sadly part ways with the van for a new family to enjoy
We MOT the van each year, the van is solid and in original condition inside and out. The paintwork is original so is fading a bit now. There is a small area of rust by the engine lid, around a couple of inches. During the time we have owned it we have fitted new carbs, electronic ignition and battery. The van has been incredibly reliable, more than I ever imagined. Stored in a dry garage all year and mainly used in the summer months.
It has a retro style rear roof rack. Also included is a child's hammock that slots in nicely over the front seats. I will include the Khyam drive away awning although this a little battered now. There is a sink (not connected) and cool box as part of the original interior.
Price £16000. Insured agreed value £17K. Based in East Devon.
