A truely stunning and unique "british" bus, they dont get any cleaner or untouched.....

I have a ton of photos if anyone needs anything sending.....

Hello Melody. I was one the admirers who commented on Bertie when you had him on ebay.
I notice he has the 1700 Type4 engine, which makes him even more appealing to me, as my parents had the identical Danbury (year, colour, tin-top and type of engine) from new. 8)

If my fortunes change then I shall most certainly be getting in touch! :D

Hi Doug,

Many thanks for your appreciation of Bertie, it sounds like you have great childhood memories of your bus.

Just for information, I have also advertised him on eBay yesterday evening, early days yet but if the right buyer is out there I'm sure they'll find each other..

It's been great to chat.

Cheers, Melody

Hi Melody, yes, many great memories.

I don't think the original family bus is around any more. It was quite tatty when we sold it 20 years ago. My current one, whilst also identical to yours, and our old one, is great in that it too is completely original, and very sound indeed, but not immaculate like yours.

I shall follow your listing with interest.

Good luck! :D

Oh no. :( I thought he had gone this time, and had been wondering who the new owner was, and whether they'd be joining EB.

If my fortunes change I shall be making contact with Melody, no messing. :D

In the meantime, another free bump to the top!

Many thanks to Araon and Danbury Doug ~

There is something very special about the lads and lasses that are passionate about their buses and your kind words have been a real boost this morning, as I haven't been onto the site for a while as our son has had the dreaded flu! and life has been slightly fraught ~ my first morning of a reasonably normal temperature and I found myself side tracking from playing nurse and slipping into earlybay.com with a cup of coffee to catch up on the bus world..

Bertie is still tucked away in his garage and I must admit over the last week, we have all dreamt of nothing else other than packing him up and driving off up to the Lake District for some pure chill time.

Great to chat,

Kindest Regards, Melody

Do it get a couple of for sale signs in the windows and catch those dreamers on their day trips get some nice pics of it on tour and add them to the for sale people like to see these in use in picturesque locations...

oh and get well.....Antony the week before our hols suffering temps of 40 degrees usually fluie symptoms and couldnt even get on the NHS helpline  me and helen just played nurse and miraculous change the day before we set off......

Earlybay is so addictive Melody, isn't it! As soon as my computer goes on, it is the first site I go to! Same when I get to work. I work nights, and I get loads of 'surfing' time to catch up with all the latest chit-chat!
Bertie's twin, my own Danbury, is in for MOT as I type this. I go and collect him in an hour or so. He only failed on a numberplate lamp last year, so fingers crossed good news again this time round! :D

I'm sure Bertie will soon find another caring owner before too long (if I don't get my hands on him first! :D )

I hope yor son recovers from his flue very soon. :)

Doug

It's my turn to win the lottery tonight, Araon, and then I will be straight over to Melody's house with a wad of notes! :D

In the meantime, another free 'bump' to the top!

It does indeed.

My one too is totally original, but not in the same condition, and it's had a mag feature, and I was surprised with the attention it got at the recent BeachBuggin event, by fellow Danbury purists. I would love to have been driving down there in this one, as I know it would have drawn a crowd!:D

I'd stick up on http://www.dubs4sale.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as I have sold on there and know loads who have with success.
