Can anyone tell me how good a fit these are (for the rear window with the quarterlight in).

The reason I ask is that I've had to order a new one but the majority of sites state that they fit either the middle or rear window but as the profile is different I'm guessing that the fit isn't going to be great.

In the end I found a site that stated that it was specifically for the rear but it said it was for left or right which again makes me think that it's not correctly shaped due to bring interchangeable.

Any experiences ?

mine came from status vw a few years ago,had it out to fit a new quarterlight and was still a good fit

Cheers, that's good news. I've ordered from C&C so hopefully it will be fine .... I'll find out soon enough !

I recently had all this, custom and commercial were the best ones and fitted very well, you must use the metal trim tho not the plastic.

Thanks for that, I'm glad I've ordered from C&C then as other suppliers indicate that they fit both side and rear but I have to admit I doubted this.

I put mine in last week. The rubbers came from Custom & commercial.

I fitted the 1/4 light first. It was easy enough to locate, just watch the tabs on the leading edge as they need to be pressed in tight to seat correctly. They're hidden behind the rubber and are easy to overlook. The rear 3/4 window is incredibly tight and took 3 of us to insert. One pressing the glass & following the puller's string, another pressing the chrome deluxe trim to prevent it from popping out, and the other person inside pulling the string. The 3/4 window needs to be located at the rear first, so in other words, the last piece of the rubber to pull through will be the vertical next to the 1/4 light. We tried all sorts of methods & this worked for us!

Don't forget to wrap the cord around the groove twice!

Others say to insert the 3/4 window first & bend the tabs on the 1/4 light to fit. It may work, but it just looks too tight!

Good luck!
