I've purchased a new steering wheel but its the later type (i think) as its too small to fit over the existing collar and spleens.

I'm thinking it would be cheaper to fit a post 75 inner column to fit the new wheel onto than get another earlier wheel?

I was wonder what differences there are between the 'INNER' columns? Are the lenghts different? the spleen collar is definitely smaller?

Bently doesnt say too much about it :( only the outer column differences.

Just had to fit one in mine after stripping splines in the beetle steering wheel, painted it when i painted beetle one then realised it was a late one.Steering column has just had steering lock metal grond off, otherwise straight fit.
