A new arrival from California is this 68 Deluxe which has been fitted with a split screen type westfalia pop top as seen on the SO42 model split buses. Good news is the canvases are available off the shelf so easy to restore the roof.
Originally a beige microbus it has been repainted beige and white many years back. The body is nice and straight with the exception of a few obvious dents that can be seen in the pics. Great sills, underside, gutters, arches etc etc. Very minimal welding needed which consists of battery tray and a little on the cab floor. Excellent doors, perfect engine lid, good valence, superb underneath..great and easy project.
No engine but gearbox, starter etc all there. Gearbox appears to be a rebuilt one as its has the usual new nylock nuts and is repainted black as you commonly see on rebuilt boxes.
This is a california Black Plate bus meaning it was sold new in california and has remained there in the dry its whole life.
Features: Deluxe body and window trim, dashboard clock, both correct 68 only wiper arms, Westy pop top, walkthrough, rear microbus bench seat.
