its a trick of the camera i tells thee, its not that good with lots of over spray on the n/s as i couldnt reach round with the gun but the hard works done now, i can blow it all over anytime. just want to use the thing now

was just looking at the first post of the thread and the paint looks the same as it does now  but the PO before the PO had painted the bus with hamerite and the paint was pitted and rough and a mess, so now its kinda smoother

The MOT drama....

i drove the van out of the unit and got about a 1/4 of a mile before the cluch failed, managed to stager it to the testers but he wouldn't test it as it wasn't drivable. so got it back home and pulled the motor, it turned out to be the cir-clip on the relase bearing shaft pushing it all out of line and mashing the release bearing, lucky enough leannes dad had a spare one. i put it back together and used an 'e' clip instead of the circlip and then put the motor back in sat morning, took it to the testers and leanne said lets check the lights one more time, so we checked them and the brake lights didnt work, checked the bulbs, changed them out and double checked the wiring, and fuses. still no joy so i got underneath and bypassed the wiures, still nothing, in the end i got a live from the fusebox and ran it to the swtch and it worked. then checked the rest of the lights and the sidelights wernt working, turned out to be a fuse. so then it was ready to go in, after a long wait and a much needed pint we went back to the testers and it had PASSED :D

Mike,

just noticed your bus is on Y plate have u never thought of gettin an age related plate ( H )for it coz i bet they charge u road tax for it. and being a 1970 it would be free.

jon

been waiting for this post to come along...

its declared manufactured in 1970 and is classed as Historic

so no road tax to pay! and i quite like that plate :) although it has been valued at £800!

well after the van has been outside over the winter it has started to 'bubble through' in a few odd places, the new arch that i put on has started to really rust and its startinging to bubble in strange places on panels! so im gonna have to re do some of the paint. bit sickening but hey!

also finally got round to sorting out all of the bits for the interior trim, gone for light gray and charcoal vinyl for the rear door/panel cards and a bmw seat material and black brush velvet for the seats, as for the rest im thinking of using ply and facing it with oak

so i've got my work cut out again
