Hi everyone,

Just a couple of photo's to introduce our '72 crossover. Not exactly noobs to the scene as we've been doing it for a couple of years now and usually hang around the VZi, Vt and MDF forums.

Had this bus for just under a year now. Haven't done much apart from add a 240 volt hookup and did a bit of an engine and box swap  and one or two extra gauges to geep an eye on what happening out back.

Hope you like her cos we love her to bits.

Hell yeah, Glad to be aboard :D .

The interior is yonks old believe it or not. The bus and that interior have done a tour of Europe at some time in their lives. When we bought it we had a good rummage (as you do :) ) and found a couple of small denomination Pesetas, Franks and Deutsch marks tucked in the crevises of a couple of the cupboards under the seats and also have a couple of receipts for work done to the bus in Spain and Germany. So it's got to have been in for at least 5 yrs as the euro was introduced around 2002. I guess it was well looked after by it's previous owners.....Bonus :D

Oh while I'm at it, what's the general consensus of opinion in these 'ere parts with regards to ermm..... alternative engines? I know some people recoil in horror at the thought of water in a Volkswagen engine bay.
*whistles nervously and shuffles his feet on the floor*

That very question sparked the most heated debate in Earlybay.com history and things got ugly for a while...

IMHO it's your bus and you should do whatever you feel is right for you, your bus, and how/when/where you drive it!

;)

I agree with J&M, it's your bus and if that is what you want to do then do it, I for one won't think of you or your
bus any less just because of the changes!

Each to their own and all that :p

Hello mate and welcome. Cracking van there, looking good 8)

She looks like a nice bus 8)
It's your engine....have what you want. I wouldn't like any water near mine though, poor old thing has enough problems without providing an internal rust resovoir   8)

Cheers guys and thanks for the great comments :D The engine conversion has just been finished by myself (it's just a common subaru one) and was done after great debate between my missus and myself, and by debate I mean screaming arguments and silent sulks

Anyway, aircooled or water cooled we love her to bits and I'd rather give my rodded Ford pop away than sell the bus :D :D

(btw, the pics are pre engine conversion hence the standard bus exhaust)

Well, get some pics post engine swap showing engine insitu and perhaps work in
progress pics if you have any :D
