914 gearbox?

I've seen this 914 gearbox offered on eBay:

I'm not going to bid but I did start wondering... would this type of gearbox improve all round performance (esp cruising) or is it like a T25 five speed (more of an extra 1st gear than higher top)?
Also, is it a straight swap?

best to look on a porsche website, it wont be a bolt in swap tho :lol:
