Have been struggling to set accelerator pump on my solex and finaly solved it...
The diaphragm is pushed by a lever via bell crank, rod and spring, when you take the mechanism off the carb, via the four retaining screws, take a good look at the inside of the pivot/hinge bit. Mine had slowly warn over the years and rubbed into the casting, causing a step which in turn this restricted the maximum movement of the hinge. Wear probably accelerated by the play in this mechanism.
I could never set the "dose" high enough.
A bit of work with a needle file removed the step and full movement is now possible. you can then set the dose...1.45ml +/- 0.1 per sharp throttle pull - good write up of this in the "official service manual"
Simple fix but not obvious, a couldnt find anything mentioned in the forums.
Hope this helps someone else.
Happy camping.
