I fitted a Bluebird stock style stainless exhaust, went on well and sounds great. So much quiter than the Mondo I took off purely for the fact that it was to loud.
All anyone can see is a small round standard looking pipe on one side which is now dirty and disguises the fact that I have a £300+ exhaust from prying eyes.
Cleared my tow bar nicely as well.
Recommend it to any one.

Is the bluebird one quiet dudes?

I've got a standard bug exhaust on at the moment and I think it's too loud, I'm gonna get a new one soon and am wondering whether to get a standard bus or a bluebird jobbie, it has to be as quiet as possible though.

I bought mine purely because my old one was to loud and after towing a caravan tow oktoberfest from Redruth I'm very pleased. The caravan reflects the noise back at the Bus but there was none of the drone of my old exhaust and once you get up to speed the rasp from accelerating drops off.
The zing noise of a new stainless exhaust is dropping off as it soots up inside as well.
Very happy.

yeah it does sound pretty sweet..... like something isnt quite stock.... but isnt totally in ya face loud!!!! mine kinda 'burbles' along

interesting thread

i just added a ceramic mondo to my bugpack 4 into 1 header, replacing a twin quiet pack

i was quite suprised that it wasn't as noisy as i expected, but still has that distinctive beefy throaty noise to it, so interesting to read about quieter options still

hopefully this will last me a fair few years before replacement though :)

should last you a while.... the nice shiney ceramic may only stay shiney for a couple of months, mine started peeling after about 6 months! also i dont know whats in ceramic coating...but it doesnt polish like a metal....

i wanted a turbo (mondo) silencer but there wouldve been clearanc issues with a 2 spline drop....
i bet it ooks lurvley?!?

Glad to hear you have got your 'zorst sorted john!

Im looking at getting a bluebird one soon so i've been watching this thread with
interest. I'll be prepared for a struggle with the header though

My only issue is i have an original type devon towbar fitted and my present
mild steel (kadron) quiet pack only clears the electrics bracket by mm's

I may need to do some measuring first. its possible the slanted type is the way to go
for me, though i prefer the look of the non slanted type!
