So did everyone's buses survive the storm? Luckily mine was tucked up in the garage, I know some aren't so lucky. Hope nobody woke up to any damage? :D

My bus was on my drive :x as the garage is keeping all the crap from our house protected. The wind was strong in London, enough to knock a tree over, luckily though the local Nissan dealership broke its fall.

No damage to my bus and its never looked so clean :p

I haven't been down to check yet, at the farm where mine lives.
If it has been destroyed, it probably would have died together with my other car that lives alongside it, and my parents' motor home too!

I slept like a drunk baby last night so I don't think the winds were that strong up north :p

Will be going to the vans current abode to check up on it this evening. It is parked under some hefty trees that often drops small branches on to the roof (forever cleaning out the gutters!), so fingers crossed there's nothing too big on top

Took me 3hrs to drive 44miles to woolwich this morning, only to get to site and find that the site is shut!! Plenty of crap in the roads but nothing mega, other than a divvy Dutch van driver who ripped his front wheel off whilst entering blackwall tunnel!! :x

It managed to rip my hamilton cover apart at the seams and some fence panels fell on to it!

Now looking for another cover gutted though cause my hamilton one wasn't even a year old and they aint cheap!!

Is that why the tunnell was shut?

Hi Winston,

I bought a Maypole cover a month ago and am really happy with it.
The material seems tough and yet soft.
It's kept my bus nearly completely dry over the last few really rainy weeks.

Here's a link where i found the best deal
http://www.camping-intl.com/details/Maypole_Camper_Van_Cover_VW_T2/

It's a much better fit than shown in the photo, nice and snug, and adjustable to make it tight like I did for the 'storm'.

I have a tintop and it's a perfect fit, just over the domed hubcaps.

I noticed rain does get through the zipper a little, but that's the only small issue.
It seems to ventilate really well.

Good luck and for £66 well worth a try.

Yup! If was shut due to an unsafe structure on the north side, they then reopened it and diverted people onto the a13 only for some Dutch twat to clip a massive kerb at the entrance and tear his wheel off! I was right behind him, couldn't believe my eyes! I think he subconsciously started following the arrow that sends overheight vehicles off to the left then tried to turn back when it was too late!

I remembered to get out and tighten all the straps on the cover before I went to bed, reckon I got wetter doing that than the bus got all night.

The old Bus survived the storm here in Essex , lots of fences down, the odd tree down but no where near as bad as the 1987 storm when the area looked like a war zone !

My bus survived safe and sound :D Remember watching the neighbours roof tile lifting of one by one  87 was indeed something else...
