anybody got a M10 helicoil kit?

Anybody got an M10 x 1 helicoil kit they want to sell, loan. Or know where to get one in the lancashire area?

Whereabouts in Lanc are you?
Barnes of Barrowford (01282 877222) sell them, but they're about £45 for the kit which includes, Tap drill, the tap, the fitting tool and 5 helicoils. Bit pricey if you only need 1. :roll:
I need a 5/16x14 Whitworth for my grandads jeep but am a bit loath to spend near 50 quid for 1 thread! I'm gonna keep asking around the local machine shops, you never know :lol:

Uber cool, I can help you out. I've got a set in the garage, i had the same problem. Got sent a new gauge for my new engine from a reputable VW parts company with the wrong thread (1/8th NPT instead of M10 x 1). Stupid me didn't check it before fitting and stripping the threads! I just thought a company of that size would sell the correct parts. I had an engineers report for proof but they wouldn't admit it was wrong or compensate! PM me and we'll sort it. Don't know your back ground so don't want to teach you to suck eggs but there are a few things to bear in mind when fitting the helicoil.

Cheers you might be my life saver. Backgorund preety good with cars tinkered long enough, just not done a helicoil before, so all help welcome, never too old to learn.

Just absolutely gutted that my new import having waited so long is no off the road for a £3 oil pressure switch :evil:
