Hi all

Any one had an experience of Delilah’s VW camper furnishings? I like the sound of their "manga-blinds". Having seen SlammedKuston's magnetic curtains I quite like the idea.

Thanks

Or you can make your own (or perhaps your favorite relative with a sewing machine  ) and buy your magnets direct from these guys

They really are amazingly powerful little bits of technology, I've used some to attach sound proofing panels under the rock and roll bed when I didn't want a permanent fixing

But having said that 10% discount without the hassle not to be sneezed at

Hi, saw this thread. My partner runs Delilah's. She'll happily give Early Bay members 10% discount too.

Members will just need to mention the forum. :)

I guess someone here has heard of it then!

Nice to know there is a connection to the true camper forum ;)

Well, I got in touch and what service! Have placed an order and will be happy to post pics to show the blinds on my van. Expected in just under two weeks all being well. Cheers Lizzie!

Lizie has been working hard for me and with the evntual co-operation of the Post Office I was able to try my new blinds out just now. They are great!

On the second shot I have my insulated mats on the window with the magna blinds covering them. I understand that these are the first Lizzie has done with the magnets sewn in and I reckon they work really well. There are one or two ideas which are being bounced around to make them work as well as possible so in the future the blinds will fit and work as well as you could wish.

Add to that the excellent way in which Lizzie deals with her customers and I'd say you cannot go wrong placing an order right now!

Hi Mike

Thanks for the photos its good to see them in the flesh. When I spoke to Lizzie she said that the magnets were loose but put over the fabric to hold it against the inside panels.

From what you say you have the magnets sewn into the blinds themselves. I **** the idea of that but I wonder how that would work if you tried to wash them in a washing machine. The magnets would end up sticking to the drum!!

Call me common Baldrick but I have never washed any curtains ever, let alone ones on the van! Even if you do regularly wash these magnablinds I reckon the ease of use outweighs the problems.

Hi guys,

been thinking about this. I could make a blind so that the magnets could be removed ...it wouldn't look quite a trim as yours Mike but maybe worth a try?

Lizzie

Maybe Baldrick is living up to his namesake's way of thinking? If the blinds were washed wouldn't they end up stuck round the outside of the drum anyway after the spin with or without magnets?!!

Good point ...what say you Baldrick? :)

Some beans... (That might need explaining if you don't watch Blackadder!!)

Fair point during a spin cycle, but the wash cycle should throw things around a bit more.

That said, Lizzie I think I'd go for the one's with the magnets sewn in as I'll only end up losing them!! Don't have removable magnets for me!! :) .

Mike's probably right...they will probably never end up getting washed...I just like the thought that they might.

Lol :) ...Blackadder was a great series -comedy classic!

Have been out today and tried all of the blinds...

As you can see the ones in the cab fit well, draping over the dash and not needing all that pushing in to the screen as the insulated mats do.

These then look very neat outside, and I can see that they'd be great for stopping the van getting too hot in the summer.

My van is a Devon and Lizzie has said she'd make a small curtain to cover the inside of the wardrobe. As yopu can see here the side rear blind is shorter and again easy to fit just tucking into the wardrobe. The mat on this window is always a pain and I reckon I'll be taking scissors to it!

The magnets held the insulated mat in from Wednesday to Sunday without falling down so the magnets are clearly more than up to the job. Can't say more than buy and you won't be disappointed!
