Hey guys,

I've been looking around and I only know of 4 early RHD crewies in the country, one of which is mine, one is a wreck, one is immaculate and worth around £18k (restored by John King) and the last one is hiding in a barn in Wales.

Anyone know of any more?
Steve.

This mine, any idea of value? I paid £5.5k last year.

I'm currently rebuilding the engine, then hopefully its off to my mates garage for a full respray, inside and out.

I'm really struggling on the colour though! Ideas so far are:

Metallic Bronze
or
Black up to the swage line, then white/ivory top and loading bay
or
redo the blue

Decisions eh!

rust free rhd bus like that has got to be worth way more than what you paid for it. Value is relative though, it`s what someone is prepared to pay. If i had that bus to sell i`d be asking between 8-10k. Afterall how many rhd crewies are there these days in that condition. Notice it has S.A. plates from gauteng...must be nice and dry. What happened to the dust collector thing that sits

behind the cab like this one

Hmmm, no dust collector thing, what is that? No scar on the bed either so I dont think it ever had one!

It used to have a 2.2ltr porsche motor in there, but it had a 1600 sp when I got it.

It was on the SA plates when I bought it, UK registered now, awesome to drive, I love it :D Its got an adjustable front axle on it too.

Your right tho, price is relative, especially as its not for sale, I've wanted one of these for years.

S.A. commercials were fitted with dust extraction systems for all the dirt roads etc. Splitties had oil bath filter situated at the rear of the loadbed on each corner. You`ll see from the foto i posted of my bus that it has a tall pipe behind the passenger side with a dome thing on it. It contains a fan and filter and is supposed to filter the dust so it doesn`t get into the engine. I am loathe to take it off as it`s "original" and would be damned hard to find a replacement, plus i kinda like it

Is this the same Steve I meet at Vanfest? look's like the same bus (electric windows?).
Dude your bus in the DON! I love it (anything early in rhd always rocks my boat!).
