...that big lump of rust above (no, not the van - someone had to say it!) is a massive layer of sheet steel, laid for when Harriers used the airfield, so as not to damage the surface during vertical landing.

Nice pics!

On another subject i saw your bus outside the welding shop in Tolworth the other day,
Running repairs?? :D

Cheers guys - pictures helped by the really crap weather!
Saturday we had our (Caterham) event, and was able to do some charity runs around the TG track again, but this time had a friend out at various corners doing some filming (Follow-Through, Hammerhead etc!) so got some nice shots coming 8)

Yep - that was me outside the shop! Bought a little Clarke Pro 90 welder - replaces the SIP Handymate I have had for 15 years! Van is pretty sound, but there are a few things that could do with looking at, and want to be able to do it myself. Had a little play with the gas MIG welder, and wow - what a difference - so much easier to get a decent weld! Hence the desire for the ability to roll the van over and work on it easily...

Now, mattyd72 - about those horseshoe plates - open to an offer? Can collect....
