You should have 2 sets of 2 poles (blank ends with springs in the middle)that slide through were the awnning attaches to the van and some little clamps that will clamp it all to the van, fit these from the underside with the slider open (use tape on you van or they will scratch it). Be carefull with the position of the awnning as the slider will rip the awnning if you have the awnning too close to the front end of the van.
Good luck not a bad awnning, we are selling ours though as we bought a kyhamm so no more awnning rage.
Used it for over a year and worked really well.

hi ianscooby. i have the little clamps, but not sure which poles??? i put the three long ones across the awning, but i belive there are a couple more for strenghthening the tent roof as well??? are the roof gutter poles the ones which have a squashed bit at the end???? tried to look for the instructions but can not find them now!!!!!

The squashed end ones are the cross brace (strengthening) the one should have a butterfly type screw, slide the other inside the one and psuh out then tighten the butterfly, the squashed end fits in a pocket at either end. Once in place you will see a couple of ribbon ties, tie them to the pole with a butterfly knot.
