Hello

This maybe a silly question but thought I would ask anyway.

I went out to check the van yesterday to find the battery is flat, I have put it on charge and switched it over this morning once fully charged to trickle charge it but as I have a tracker on it I have received emails to say low battery etc and to reconnect it or the back up battery on the tracker will run out.

Is it ok to reconnect the leads to the battery and then put the trickle charger back on it ? or if I am going to keep the battery fully charged I should disconnect the battery leads ?

Thanks

Simon

I don't disconnect my battery cables when I am trickle charging it, I just piggy-back the terminals :msn4:

I don't have a Bay but a Karmann Ghia which is kept in garage and not used over winter. To keep battery charged I bought a solar panel on ebay for about £20 which I keep connected to battery and place panel beside garage window. This keeps battery fully charged. If your Bay is not parked in garage, a panel inside near a window would do the same job

Ditto, don't think there is anything wrong with this - the trickle charger will only output a certain low current so if you try to draw more than it can supply, the battery will just run flat again.

I leave mine on when listening to the radio in the garage, lights on, etc etc.
