Best Bamboo parcel shelf?

Happy to send templates to whoever wants one. PM me your name and address. I made parcel shelf with one piece of 15mm thick ply with the trays cut out, then 3mm thick piece without trays cut out and stuck it together. Made the edge, that can be seen, neat by edging it with oak "iron on" strip. I then used L shape brackets to support the back of the shelf and two threaded rods with ally tube sheaths bolted through the metal strips either side of the hand brake

I got one of the cheaper wicker type one's as one day I hope to get a og Bambus not the fake ones you get now don't let that little plaque fool you as you can buy fake ones on fleabay. :shock:
Anyway this one cost about £50 a couple of years ago & comes in right handy its the only time I've gone cheap as I can't justifie £150 for something that's really not the real thing.

There's a huge difference in price for these Bambus reproductions, £55 on JK and £173 on Karmann? What's the difference?

The JK ones are wicker, & the bamboo frame is laced (covered) in some sort of reed, which is much more rustic than the Karmon
repro's which are faithful to the original in construction being of catgut centres like a tennis racket, & the outer frames wrapped in a vinyl imitation reed, it is not uncommon to find 50 plus year old Bambus shelves in mint condition because of the materials used.
Hope this is of help, you basically get what you pay for but £173 for a parcel shelf. :shock:

:lol: I paid over £50 for my levers & the best part of £400 for my steering wheel :shock:
I had to stop, well that was a few years ago now but my Mrs got a long memory. :lol:
