I need to pull the engine before the season starts again due to what I believe to be a leak from the oil cooler. Possibly the rubber grommets have given up, what sealant can anyone suggest for the grommets to get them to seal again once I replace them?

Whenever I have torqued the cooler up on my engines I have found the base goes flush to the case anyway? So surely you can't crush the seals because the metal faces are face to face? I would check the seals are the correct size, there engine seal kits come with about 3 different types.

Edit - forgot there are two sets of seals, it doesn't go face to face on the ones from adaptor to cooler.. But then I've never set those M6's to the 5-6ft/lb torque value required, just tightened them till I though it was sufficient; never had it leak from there. Just accidentally putting he wrong size seals between the adaptor to case which leaked all over!
