hi there. ive just made these back cupboards/units to house the tv in my camper, the problem i have is the aerial. ive tried numerous aerial's with out sucsess. the only aerial that seems to work is a big house roof aerial but even this wont work when i'm camping in a valley.
so is there any tried and tested aerial's that will work in most enviroments.
thanks in advance and all the best, chicargo

Hi m8 - i just bought an avtex digi one, well pleased with it! You can get one for about £35 delivered from ebay (new) or caravan shops, nice and small- they come with a sucker to fix on a window while you use it and also a clamp to fix to a roofrack etc. I suckered mine to the rear westy roof
It also has a built in amplifier which is 12v
Good bit of kit and quite small

cheers, i'll have a look on ebay, i like the idea of the suction cup as it would save a lot of hassle. you should see me trying to ballance the big house aerial ive got at the moment :( keep's the wife amused for age's though

Have you looked at the virtues of Freesat over Freeview? Easier to setup in the long run.

This is something i'm looking into getting sorted in due course...

Why d'you need a TV in the van??
i love tv my friend. nothing better than going for a bike ride then coming back to the van and kicking you shoes off with a nice cuppa in hand and watching some tv. plus it has the added advantage of not having to listen to my other half reading extracts from stupid poxy friggin reveal magazine or bl**dy bella. things like "that jordans banned that leo from doing big brother"  or " that amy from essex girls is leaving" and you've got nowhere to run in a camper, i mean you cant exactly say oh how interesting dear and retreat to the garage. ;)

Hold onto your remote or you might end up watching big brother, scary thought. I have an aerial but not tried it as ps2 has kept me entertained so far..highly recommend one.
