Hi,
My first post so go easy on me....
I am looking for pics of buses with slot mags as I have just picked up a set (hopefully picking them up this week) and want to know whether I am making a mistake fitting them. They are 6jx14 ET30, was thinking about polishing them. I guess I need sleeved bolts to fit them, but other than that they should go straight on?
I used bus selecta with teledials on to get a rough idea how it might look:

Cheers
Matt.

Cheers for the welcome Scampi, got them on Ebay for £26 thought for that price I cant really go far wrong?! They are wolfrace ones not enkei, not sure how much difference there is.
There are a couple of sets on there at the moment.

Thanks Loxy, my bus gives me a lot of satisfaction and fun, best thing i have ever wasted stacks of money on.
i posted a bit of info about my wheel adventures on our Australian site if anybody wants to take a lookie.
While you are there, register and post something as well, keep the north south dialog progressing.

Hi Lobus,
Thanks for your reply, my wolfrace wheels are a bit more retro than yours theyre a 70s style slot mag, very similar to ones that came on Reliant Scimitars.
Its going to look a bit like this - I think, unless I decide to paint them black. They are going to need plenty of elbow grease before they shine though.....

I'm not too sure on the rake either at the moment, sorta ended up like that rather than planned, may have to raise the front a bit ??
Where are you in Oz? I lived in Drummoyne, Sydney for a few years in the mid-nineties.

Matt.

I'm in Melbourne. I would think that to sort the stance out on your bus you should lower the rear. But I always say that! Are the wheels you are usung 5 stud? i wouldn't go for four studs on a bus. Not with the way i load mine up anyway.

I cheated when I made the pic and borrowed it from a scimitar site hence the 4 bolt pattern, the ones I have are 5x112 (Its a 72 crossover).

How many outer splines can you go at the back and still get a decent ride?
It is used most days and I have 3 kids (and a dog) so its usually got quite a lot of stuff in it. Its currently only 1 outer and I have cut 2 ribs of the bump stops off. Would I need to replace the standard shocks if I went to 2 outer splines?

I didn't lower it with the spline system, I had adjustable spring plates fitted by Indian Automotive in Sydney. I can wind it up and down in 10 minutes to whatever I need. I went to a show yesterday and had the mudflaps dragging! Tommorrow I am driving to Adelaide so I will crank it up a bit for the road trip. It is a bit more expensive to do in the first place but the convenience of the adjusters is neverending.
Check out this site and tell Kimm that David sent you. He exports his kits anywhere and they are bolt on with no cutting or welding required.
He also did the front end torsion bar adjusters as well.

Mind if I revive this old thread a bit? As I might get SlotMags for my '71. I'm planning on getting a pair of these from my friend:

I think they must be Wolfrace copies, there's marking on the back.

ET on them is 25 so should be OK for front (planning on narroved slammed split bus beam). But there's only a pair.

I was offered a set of four Wolfrace Slots like this:
wolfrace7x14_856.jpg

Wonder how the ET is on those? Or will they fit slammed rear if they're 6" or 7" wide. Might rub the wheel arc, if it even fits in with tire?

My wolfrace slots are 6jx14 ET30, it should be written on the outer rim opposite the wolfrace badge. I havent seen any 5x112 wolfraces in other sizes than that.

I have started polishing one of them but, engine disassembly has halted my progress :(

Flat 4 also do an Enkei slotmag to fit 5x112 PCD that can be bought new from kieft & klok or VW heritage (and Flat 4 of course).

The slot mags in the first pic look similarish to to the flat 4 ones except the slots are slightly squarer. Are they 14s or 15s?

TunaFactory wheels are 6jx14", they're made sometime in the seventies.

6jx14 ET30 would be sweet, it would make sense if they were intended for Benz W123. It just worries me, because to my eye Wolfraces have lot less backspacing than those Tunas with +25ET.

I'm not even considering Flat4, because these are not my 1st choise for EB, but I probably can get a 4-6 of them by the price of one Flat4 wheel so they're tempting. And something different, and not repro (egomaniac).

Rock on
