Cab door crack.

Hey folks. Does anyone else have a problem with a crack in the metal just above where the mirror bolts on ? I'm trying to figure how it's cracking and trying to figure why it's a stress point in an unusual place. I know its common with bays from what I have seen and heard in the past though. My passenger door is fine oddly. I'm obviously going to have to get it welded but I dont have a welder.. what do you all suggest folks ? If only there was a small hand held welder ha. Cheers.

They crack because the weight of the mirror weakens the metal every time you shut the door.
Strip the door completely and get the crack welded.

There’s metalwork that runs between the inner and outer door skins just under the 1/4 window , it rots and allows the skins to flex then split

Yes, there's a brace just in front of the 1/4 light frame

Hey folks. Cheers for the replies. @sparkywig that makes alot of sense cheers. Well I got it done. Its all welded and double plated too so it's super strong now. .

Well it's taken me a few days inbetween work but she's all done and dusted for now ha. Crack welded up and painted, new window trim, scuttle rubbers etc not perfect yet but a little fettle here and there and all will be alright.
