Hi,

Going to look at the camper tonight though after driving it for first time in a year the camper really struggles in 1st and 2nd though does get up to speed in the end and fine in lower gears!?

Last things I did was valve clearances and clutch adjustment. The clutch is very high at the moment, so will adjust again. Any other pointers for tonight would be great.

Take care,

J

When you say "last things I did..." when was this - before putting it away for the year or before driving it this time?

And when you say struggle, do you mean that it feels like it only has 3bhp or that it is "chuggy"/"lumpy"?

Best guess from me at this stage is to check your dizzy, both timing and points. Does it have a vac advance?

Sorry I should have been a lot clearer.

Before driving this year, oil was changed, valve clearances checked and clutch cable reconnected. Static it turns over lovely, revs well and sounds as it normally does.
When pulling away you have to give it so much gas to even move, once past 2nd gear she gets up to speed ok. No back firing or smoke

I am going to play with the clutch again tonight as said bites very high, then check timing etc.

Appreciate your time.

Regards,

J

How does it rev when out of gear?
Do the revs rise steadily with the accelerator pedal?

Rev'd fine out of gear and static, no different than normal. Will test again tonight though

Has it been sat for a while mate ?? Just wondering if its been stood, brake may have seized on ,??

Hi, it has but we have reworked the brakes and all fine. Though I may be a dick, i forgot to say we also fitted a quick shift underneath the existing gear stick. I found tonight that if i pushed the gear stick down and into first it moved now issues at all :/ Will give it a run tomorrow for a proper test, but wondering if thats how quick shifts work or if I have the plate the locking plate the wrong way round?

Take care

J
