gonna need a small miracle

passed the MOT yesterday, was at the DVLA door before 9am today

gonna be a tall order to get tax and reg in time for volksworld now

Mine took a while, the first time because I didn't take the correct customs clearance form in.Then a couple of thursdays ago (13th)I took it all in again correct this time. But I got a phone call the following tuesday asking me what the length and width of the vehicle are? So I went home measured it and they did actually phone back later that day and I told them. The actual paperwork (tax disc, reg plate certificate, and my other docs) came back thursday (20th)

Still waiting for the V5 but I take it it's alright to drive it still?

You could take it there on trade plates if you can borrow some?

Fingers crossed for you dude I hope they're quick for you.

got a dodgy regulator or generator now

gonna try a new reg tommorow, see if that fixes it

will be there in the Prius at this rate

sometimes they do pull their finger out at local dvla offices and get stuff done quick 8)

Solution.

Get transported there.

Put bucket with brief description of plight by bus in line-up. Collect enough schrapnel to cover cost of transporting. I'd put a quid in

had a dodgy regulator yesterday, got a used one and sorted it out, rewired some speakers for the potential journey

just waitin on the DVLA now

and got me earlybay sticker in too

I was wondering that too,I think the slook design company will be at Volksworld and maybe they'll have some, they also make them with your username on too not sure if they can do it there though?

I've been driving about in the crewie on it's US plates. The van is MOT'd and insured (on the chassis number) so is road legal in that sense.

The ppwk for registration is with the DVLA, I'm expecting it back anyday now. The official DVLA line is that you must register your vehicle before driving it on UK roads.

However..........they will also confirm that if your vehicle is registered in the country of origin (the crewie still is, it has the correct stickers on the license plate) then you can drive it in the UK. I take my crewie to work at least 3 times a week, and the carpark is shared by both police officers and traffic wardens, and all they want to talk about is the van itself, not one of them has even mentioned the plate! (or the lack of a tax disc for that matter)

The insurance company are the only 'official' lot that are pestering me for the V5 and corresponding UK registration number, which hopefully they will get very soon, providing the DVLA process it, which to be fair they usually do pretty quickly.

I'm not suggesting for one minute than anyone should abuse or even break the law, however it doesn't hurt to be aware of the correct info. That said it wouldn't hurt to at least get your ppwk in the post...sent by recorded delivery of course.

Carole

hi carol

cheers for that, but mines not been registered in the US since 2004, so no US tax on the plates, so cant use that one

I drive for a living, so cannot afford to wing it so to speak, gotta tow the line  .
