Charcoal filter thingy

My import bus has the charcoal filter evaporative emissions canister fitted. Can I just bin all this (well ebay it) and block the outlet in the fan housing?

Seems a bit pointless over here?

I took mine out, block the hole in the fan shroud. And you will also need to do something with the breather from the tank. I was going to feed it into the air filter, but then considered that fuel may (in an unlikely circumstance) come down this pipe.. So ended up drilling a hole in the battery tray and running a piece of copper pipe through it, connected to the outlet with a short piece of r9 fuel hose.
