Hi all,

I have been looking into getting some chrome plating for the bus.

I would like to get the iginition surround and steering column chromed but is the metal good enough quality? I know it comes painted as standard but its scratched and looks naff at present.

I know i can take it to a workshop and they could tell me but thought people on here may have already tried or experienced results etc. Thanks Guys

As long as the parts you want to plate are free from knocks or deep scratches they should be ok.

Plating process, strip old finish, polish part to mirror finish, copper plate, polish copper plating, chrome plate.

Copper is used to seal the steel substrate, this is why cheep chrome hub caps rust so quickley no copper interlayed and chrome is porus so moisture get through to the steel.
