Hi there,

im new to this bus thing, so bear with me.

on a 71 bus, which has a small 5 stud pattern, how easy is it to convert it to wide 5 pattern so i can fit some american eagle 5 spokes?

is it just a case of swapping the drums over?

thanks in advance

no need just buy some 112 to 205 adapters, job done

youve got the better braking with discs on already why change it back?

thanks for your reply, but i didnt want to use adaptors....

guess i'll have to go for 5 spokes in the small 5 pattern.

it depends on your budget really, if you want to keep the discs but go wide five there are front and rear kits that will run you around £1000 for front and rear, and no adapters

Or Fuchs with adapters?

As Johnny says it is possible to convert back to drums but if you have the benefit of discs and a servo it might
be better to find wheels to suit.

If you really do want to swap I'm sure there'll be a few on here happy to swap for an upgrade.

ok well if i use adaptors on front, i understand that using adaptors on the back and american eagle 5 spokes i may run into some clearance issues?

Creative Engineering do a wide 5 outer drum to fit a later bay for £160 a pair.

did you fit the rear wheels with adaptors? are they deep 6's

Deep 6s mightn't go with adapters (mine are Flat4 5.5") you'll probably need the creative hub/drum kit.

yer flat 4 4.5 and 5.5 fuch are the ones im fitting, so they go on at the back ok with adaptors?

Perfect fit, 205/70s on mine - but you would run lower with 185 or 195/65

My adapters are 20mm, Shane R had his machined back a little to 15 IIRC (same wheels),
and as Johnny said on the other thread Red9 do them 10mm now.

I've just had a look around - my rear arches (Apr. 71) seem to be flared more than other '71s I have seen, do you have pics of yours?

looks like you have later arches like me, should help with lowering the rear end and removing the wheel

phew!

worried me then!

right im on the case with butty, just need some flat 4 fuch now! anyone know of some?

Er, that's the hard part - they're no longer in production and the last set I saw went for £1000 :?

Genuine Porsche 14x5.5 go for half as much and will fit too.

yer ive heard from a few US suppliers that at the end of sept they will be available again......i can wait....itll be winter by the time the van gets here anyway so im in no rush :)
