Change of spindles/Brakes on a 71

My Brakes, could do with replacing, but i have the 71, one year only disks. i'm trying to work out the best way forward. the bus is lowered but on adjusters, so do i go up on the adjusters and down on the spindles to get a better ride, also allowing me to upgrade the brakes.

Are the spindles a straight swap?
Best make and where to buy?
Fit late bay brakes or...?
Just swap the 71 brakes out and if so they seem to be out of stock everywhere, any ideas where to get them from?

early and late spindles are a straight swap
i think the only make is EMPI ?
fit late bay brakes for ease of finding parts and the availability of replacing things such as rotors and pads (but its completely a personal choice)
most parts stores should sell 73+ disc brake components
