anyone know a decent campsite? looking to go on saturday to monday

had a look online but they all seem a bit steep...like £60 STEEP! not really into the whole club site, swimming pool thing either...just a no-frills field would do.

It's gonna be epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6ft walls
(that's my swell prediction)

cool so it seems lobb is the place to go. i shall book it up.

pretty crap at surfing, i can get up on a foamy! hoping to get better this year.

hi ant, i'm going on the first, this saturday and i am taking the bus.

however, if it kicks ass i may well book up for the next one too!

and yep in the van! this will be our first overnighter since the resto so we cant wait!

Went down to croyde after vanfest and stayed at the park Ruda right next to the beach. Didn"t work out to bad..... 53 notes for 4 days. You must go to Saunton as i've never had a better days surfin as i did when i went there !!!! Even cheered me up after a wasted journey down from newcastle to buy a T4 that was an absolute pile of **** . There i go again with the stupid grin i came home with :D

thats cheap for ruda!!!! i tried there last year and they were after 37 notes for a pitch for ONE night!!!! 37 quid for a piece of van sized grass...wtf?!?!
i go to lobb fields too..... croyde is just way to expensive......

last summer also tried bayview which is the first one you pass on the right just before the thatch pub.....
get this..... 20 notes a pitch per night...minimum stay.....5 NIGHTS!!!!!! you feckin what?!?!
they were half empty and so i said 20 for just one night rather than an empty pitch is better than nothing innit??!?!
told me to basically get lost!!!! i used to go there every may bank holiday.....was my favourite campsite..... but not anymore...
i live in exeter and would rather drive home and back the next day than pay croyde prices!!!!

sorry....rant over!!!!

Had a awesome time guys! lobb fields or lobb-on as it's now called  was very nice and super clean. was £24 for two nights with elecky hook up...not bad me thinks.

So, we have booked up for the next one at the end of May!
bit more expensive...actually a lot more as it's half term but we had such a good time i couldn't help myself.

Ant and windsurfer you guys are there then right?

I'll upload some pics tonight...my ribs hurt from getting slammed by the waves.

Hey Tiki Al,
Yep, we'll be there from sat 23rd til tuesday, sounds like it could be an EB-surf event!
Can't wait.

I've just got back from Woolacombe too, surfed Croyde on Sunday!
Not epic but it was great to get out.

We'll have to arrange to hook up

sounds great, it was our first time in Croyde... I'm new to this surfing malarky but am really getting into it! we went to putsborough? on sunday, it was really mellow...perfect for beginners like me.

if you let me know what pitch you are on I will try and get one next to you guys, we are there from the 23 too, so will be leaving bristol early doors for a cruise down. this time we got off the M5 at bridgewater and went over exmoor. porlock hill was...ahem, interesting to say the least! 1st gear and plenty of "come on girl you can do it".

have you tried the iced cider in the thatch... i got pretty pissed on that

cool... sounds like you had a spot on time!

im at a wedding on the saturday...but may have a shifty upto lobb on the sunday or monday as have the week off work!

how much was it a night for that weekend?!?!

jp

hi thru, i think it was about £25 a night for a electric pitch prob a bit less for non.

it's because the kids are off, we actually drove back after booking and were like "umm you've overcharged us?"

only to be told it's high season, then it goes back down after that week

I knew a few of the guys here were going so thought sod it and booked up. i think they are going fairly quickly so you might have to book up sharpish...or risk it for a biscuit on the day.

were currently on pitch 35, but i think ant and windsurfer have already booked so I was maybe going to change if poss.

unless of course by shear fluke they are 36 and 37 8)

well ive just submitted a booking form for the sunday and monday night but havent requested a particular pitch.....

We're on 67 and 68, I believe 69's free too. 90-95 (non hook up are super close to us!

Sort it out Dudes

just tried to swap to pitch 36 but no joy... so 35 it is then! which, coincidentally is pretty darn close anyway.

if we get there before 36 i may accidentally set up there
