Basically if you run a csp disc kit it runs GM calipers . Now I always think outta the box and there aint No way Im paying 26 quid to CSP stockists in the UK 4 brake pads . After doing my research the calipers are off a 1983/4 Astra and they are £9 a set ..............

Or 26 quid from the '' Specialists '' I was just making sure a fellow Early Bayer had a good holiday

Thank you kind Fella, I was hoping you were going to say that.

Just another CSP question, Does anyone else get stones stuck every now and again between the dust guard and disc? I think that is what it is, there has been a grinding noise, quite loud, then I have tweeked the dust guard and it has gone. Any one else?

That is a beer I owe you 8)

hi , i thought i was having the same problem but it looks like it may be that one of my disc's that has warped (drilled dics's) as it only happens when i've had to brake hard or for a long time - it starts rubbing then when it cools down it stops , the other thing it may be is the caliper not returning very well ?

Steve that sounds strange? how do the brakes feel? brake judder?

My noise came from the metal backing of a pad rubbing on the disc - wheel bearing needed a slight tweek and it was gone.

a up m8 , braking is totaly fine, as i say its just if i,ve had to brake for a long time it starts rubbing then slowy goes away as it cool down , am hoping it's a sticking piston i can loosen.

You have got me thinking now! I think mine happened both times after big hills. I never put the two together. Mine are only the solid discs.....

1983/4 Astra? Where the hell do you get shoes for those? There aren't even any on the roads anymore.

Joval most small motor factors carry em as there generic GM calipers . Steve you may need to strip and clean then regrease the sliding portion of your calipers . If the bus stands etc then the sliding portion of the clalipers seems to attrach all the road **** etc and this then binds the calipers when in use . Ive done this probably 3 times in 7 yrs of having the kit on my bus and never really had a problem after , and yes i have the solid kit too as I heard there was an interference problem with certain wheels on the vented kit

hi , sorted now one off the callipers wasn't returning well but it was the stainless back plate that was making the rubbing , i think it's because they are just a flat piece of metal without and pressed ribs that given the extra heat from the sticking calliper they warp ?
