Deluxe Air Con

Evening all -

Due to take delivery of my imported deluxe in a couple of weeks, it's got factory air con and I'm just wondering if anyone has it/uses it/has reconditioned it? Looks like I could simplify things by removing the whole set up but at the same time I'd love to keep it original if I could! It's been sat for a lot of years so I imagine the pipework will need changing and possibly even the compressor!

I know of a fair few aircon units in late bays back in Oz. Most the owners have removed them as they are a ballache to get working right and really don't provide enough cooling for the effort. Sorry I can'r provide any tech info about them.

Anyway, who needs air con over here. Open a window. :lol:

Pretty much what I thought! could probably get a few quid back for the full set up on ebay for some optimist who thinks we get more than 8 hours of sun a year!

I'm going to have a good look over it when I get it, I don't really want to put too much thought into it as it's not necessary and I've got plenty to be getting on with - however if I can get it working without much fuss it would be pretty cool...

I'd love one for mine for when I take it to Spain but – and I know nothing about them firsthand, mind – everything I've read has indicated they're a massive pain and not worth it, as aspro says.
