Retning to get in to my 75 break drum. Supposedly removing the two small bolts should be enough.
But they will not come off. Do I need to loosen the actual wires from the handbrake , or anything else??
Or are the just being stubborn?

You need to wind back the brake shoe adjuster. I think there is an access hole behind. If you shine a light through the access hole, you will see what looks like a small cog. Use a small screwdriver to turn this backwards and it will pull the shoes in enough to remove the drum. There are 2 adjusters that both need to be turned. See picture below. Both adjusters are at the bottom:

Exactly as said above. In addition, I’d make sure you can feel some slack at the handbrake cable at the adjustments at the bottom of the handbrake lever. On the earlier ones there are two adjusters but I believe on the later ones there is only one. Once you have ensured there’s plenty of slack at the bottom of the hand brake lever then try and wiggle some slack near the drum back plate. Don’t go crazeeee with the hammer as you could crack them drums but definitely give them a nice bit of tapping around the front edge. For getting the adjuster slackened off, one of those head torches is superb for seeing exactly where the knurls are . And sometimes slacken off a bit then tighten a knurl or two then slacken off. When reassembling I wind em up and down with copper grease, then wipe it all off with a rag.

Thanks! Mine are of the self adjusting kind, and when I peek thru the hole I see nothing. Maybe the little cog is not centered in the hole on this kind?
