Hi I'm kind a new in here, I sold my Bug and bought a Westy :D

I just want to ask you guys whether you think there should be deluxe trim on a westy or not.

I'm a little confused about it myself, so i thought I would hear some opinions 8)

Clems Westy.

Think we all like this one, and proof it aint gotta be 'SuperSlammed' to look Awesome. 8)
Although it is now!

This is the one that convinced me hope you don't mind Clem?....and Dirty Harry, Creationblue... Faux etc..8) 8) 8) 8)

But its all our own taste, if we all liked the same, shows and the scene would be pretty boring!?

Just my opinion BTW.
They look awesome... 8)

Now... well last year!

Now we are talking deluxe trim.

Any opinion on original trim vs repro trim -up's and down's

Like all repro stuff it usually fits like a cock in a sock and doesn't last.

OG trim will fit nicely as long as it's in good condition. Be prepared to spend 2 weeks of your spare time polishing it all up. Just ask Paul.

It's like polishing season around here at the moment.

As above, new trim doesn't fit  ......I got hold of my set from the states through the Samba a few years ago but Custom and Commercial sell complete OG trim sets for £165 ;) , link below....

:D Thanks

I'm not sure I'd drill a good original paint bus to fit trim on, but I didn't mind on mine as its been painted sometime way back.

Even OG trim is a pain on the rear corners though!

I've got mine to finish polishing off, not a job I'm looking forward to.....

Im starting to get twitchy bout fitting mine, any one got tips on these corner bits ...or just tips... I can't be dealing with hassle before Ninove!!
Mmm slip/scratch!?

Tip for the corner. Use double sided tape and fit by eye until you have it right then put a line top and bottom. Drill dead centre.

When I did mine I decided that the paint is rough anyway and if it went wrong I could weld up holes as part of the Resto. Went fine though and I'm happy with the look.

I think Deluxe trim on buses sets it off a treat, had the same thoughts.

What should you expect to oay for an OG set roughly? £100? More or less?
