devon bunks

dear all

i have a 1970 bay devon converson and i am about to fit a set of bunks i have been given i notice that these bunks require a hook fixing to the roof which the bunk arms clips into.

however on my van and the top of the roor ( within the pop top) there are two pegs that are at exactly the same distace from the side of the van as i will have to hang these hooks any ideas what they do or do i have the wrong bunks???

It's a medium weight canvas - think it came from a tent supplier.
