Looking to tackle my Devon roof today, just going to dress up some 6mm MDF and fix up to the aluminium brackets but am thinking I should put some sort of insulation/soundproofing up there first? Anyone have any ideas of what to use/where to get it or should it even de done at all?

Cheers.

Mines a high top fibreglass roof and I used some thin aluminium bubble wrap type insulation from b and q (about 7 quid a roll) not sure how it performs but got to be better than nothing!
Did all the floor in the same

Also interested in this....!

We have a Devon roof but are replacing with headlining... What to put underneath? Foam? Silver insulation? Nothing? I worry the silver may be crinkly to the touch...

That stuff from B&Q looks ace for the floor/doors etc though! I'll go have a look at that

Under the floor ply it doesn't 'pop' like you would expect, but then again I'm sure with enough pressure the air bubbles could bust. I used some high temp spray adhesive to fix everything, got some left over from lining my t25 from mega van mats and works a treat. Don't use anything other than high temp stuff tho, don't want your insulation hanging off when (if) it gets sunny!

Cheers for this,
Managed to get something similar at B&Q, taped it to the aluminium roof the put 5.5mm hardwood over the top covered by wool and vinyl. Not bad really. :D

^^^^ Correct.
I stripped mine last year but now can't find polystyrene that's the same thickness of what came off.
Might just try the insulation stuff
