When I get my bus back do I have to run the carbs in somehow or can I just get in and zoom off until my hearts content?

Get in and zoom off, as long as they're tuned properly with a CO meter (or a very experienced ear). They don't need to bed in or anything. Unrelated really, but I bring it up with all carb stuff- it's the top of the pyramid, every time you change something (timing, dwell, exhaust) check your emissions are OK.

If you have proper carbs eg drla. Then yes you do. The correct procedure is to warm up the engine and find some nice road. Wind Down the window and give it a nice run and enjoy that induction roar. All the better if you have a Co pilot to appreciate the vans new lungs
