Hi all

I'm having some trouble with the cab door seals on a 69 westy, and wondered who makes the best seals and where can I get them, I've heard Wolfsburg West make good seals, are they available in the uk? if so where?

Cheers

Sean

Evning.I fitted cab seal kits to my doors last week (opening 1/4 windows). They came from Status and fitted brilliantly. Not the cheapest on the market but in my opinion theyre very good quality.

the words cheap and seals are a bad combination, as cheap seals are crap

pay more, get decent german seals from status, if you buy cheap u will regret it as the fit is terrible

i would`nt bother fitting them jk ones fella as i have some on the bus at the mo , been on for a year or so and coming off as soon as the weather gets warmer , not worth the effort imho

you get what ya pay for

sean, pm me exactly what you need and the best price you can find them for, i might be able to help you with quality seals.

Wolfsburg West have good repro ones , that is what I use when I can't get a hold of German ones. Stay away from cheap ones , they don't fit right and take for ever to install, oh and they leak.

I call Status, I fitted them and they are perfecto. Ive never had any problem with them, but Im sure they will be at Dubfreeze if you want to deal direct.

JK seals? Sorry dude, they are pants. :(

I was looking at Status but its nice to have a recommendation

I have had major service trouble with the above,be careful !!!! :x :x

Status seals are definately worth it.

I've had the wrong item sent in the past but they sorted it ASAP no problem

What about the OEM German door seals kit from C&C for £184? Need to get some for the doors I am just about to fit.

I too am interested in this, i need to do my scrapers and whilst im at it looking to do the windows including the Westy ones, trouble is without the door seals (mine were done last year) it was £380 :| thought that was a bit steep...............whats everyones thoughts?

Did have trouble with Status, sent out 2 complete door kits - 1 outer chrome (ally) scraper which took about 3 weeks of phone calls :x but it turned up eventualy.
Had JK rubbers on my old 74. My doors used to spring/bounce back open unless i slammed them shut with these lesser quality rubbers.
Surely JK know these rubbers are crap and have done something about it by now?

Hmm, I better check my door sets then. They're still in the boxes waiting for me to repair and paint the doors.

davebug - i am havingt the exact same problems. i wished they told me they were out of stock when i ordered - 6 weeks on and counting.

yesterday i ordered some of the missing parts from c&c with next day delivery, which i understand are from vewib anyway  same as status so should be identical.

i will keep you posted on quality

I do some business with their supplier, he's out of the country bringing in new seals as we speak ill let you know when they've landed.

anyone having problems getting seals let me know, i can get the best quality seals and most are in stock.
