I am sure quite a few have replaced their drum brakes up front with the disc kits - how much better/different are the discs 'in the real world' - I'm concerned at the pedal pressure sometimes needed on my drum set up is too great for my other half - I am assuming this will be reduced by fitting discs, even though there is no servo....?

I know there are various 'original part' options, but I am assuming that the CSP System is the best 'plug n' play' option - Machine 7 best to buy from, or are all much the same!

Will I need anything extra, if I get the CSP Disc Kit, Front, Solid, 14inch, 5x205, Bus 64-70
I want to keep the original wheels for now, and this also gives me the option to go 15" if I need to later (would I need to?!)

I used the CSP kit and it does make a big difference, but not as dramatic as a servo, they still require a good amount of force.

You will also need a larger Master Cylinder, GSF part no 65230 £37.90 +Vat (Be cheaky and ask for club discount)

I would also recomend M7, they have always given good advice.

Would you get much more stopping power on the larger 15" wheel disc then you would with the 14" wheel discs?

i fitted csp drilled discs on my 69 and am well happy with them (although my drums where f"*ked)

that does look nice, do you have to chnge your hubs or do they bolt on to the drum brake hub?

.......drums are better brakes than discs unless you fit a servo too.....the only people who say discs are better brakes than drums are the people who charge you £££££££££££ for the kits........or those who believe the hype

although.....drums may require more servicing and do suffer brake fade under very heavy braking.........

......to give a more modern braking feel for your other half you need to fit a servo as well as discs.......this is a 'more' modern feel....you will not get modern brakes though...

I have csp disc brakes fitted which i,am very disappointed with.I have to be honest the drum brakes stopped the bus as good as these disc's, these were in very good condition with new parts fitted.
I am now in the process of fitting a remote servo to help with stopping power as i feel these brakes should preform better than they do.
There is a lot of hype around these brakes ? i only wish i had saved my money a stuck a servo on first.

Hmmm - interesting comments.
How easy is it to fit a servo into the system?
