I have a 69 Tintop - I am having problems with the wiring.
BUT I think the van might be a crossover - as according the the shcematic diagrams, some parts of it are wired differently and other are correct????

OR is it that the [PO]'s have changed the wiring for what ever was available at the time???

Any suggestions!!

1969 is not a crossover. The van might have been made in 1968, but there's little difference between 68 and 69 looms. Is it US or Euro?

You'll find that most vans have wiring mods/bodges especially at the dash end of the loom. Rip them all out and get back to the original otherwise you'll have shorts, fuses blowing etc etc. Check and clean all earths.

What exactly is wrong with the electrics?

When the main beam lights are on......the left hand side high beam is on.
This could be a problem or just that it is incorrectly wired and the right light bulb has gone.

Have checked out this forum and had some great help.....basically wired the van as it should be and nothing has changed.....so possibly [PO] changed the wiring.

whats the RH lamp like?
when you switch on main beam do both filaments light or just the High?
are the connectors in the bowl sealed block or individual spades?
both fuses to high beams good?
does the high beam lamp on the pod light?
