End float help!!

Can someone please help! I've just build my new engine with all new parts and with no fly wheel or shims or even a front pulley, I have about 1.5mm of end float. Is this about right or do I need to strip it all down and start again!

Until you've fitted the 3 shims and flywheel and torqued it you'll not know your actual end float which should be 4-5 thou, if it is out you can change the shims for different thicknesses until you've sorted it

Thanks, will putting the fly wheel on reduce the end play slightly even without the shims?

I'm standing over the engine with my scanners about to take it all apart
