Not my accident, but a few weeks back i got a call from my brother asking what I was up to that evening, he's got a Caterham that had blown its head gasket and the engine was back and repaired so guessed there was some heavy lifting to do so mumbled I was a bit busy but might be free later....

...oh, I just need a lift to A&E as the engine hoist I was packing away collapsed and my thumbs stuck in the gap :shock:

Luckily he was wearing thick gloves and after a clean up and x-ray it was just badly squashed and bruised, but the I didn't think a glove could hold that much blood

Similar to Lobus with a bench grinder but with a polishing mop, sparkling up me headlilght rims before fitting, it grabbed it and sent it up into the garage roof came back down and missed the van by about two foot (just out of paint shop). It also had my finger in the process, skin does grow back though.

Ironically the guy that owns the garage warned me before starting to be carefull.

PS do not cut onions with a chinese cleaver as it hurts and makes a right mess, plasters do not work when the top of your thumb is in with the onions which become pink.! :shock:

Spent a weekend working on my old bus doing some nice easy jobs etc when a mate came round to help. Having shared a 'herbal' cigarette I managed to put the battery in the wrong way round and connect it up!!! :roll: :roll: :roll:

Cat 1 alarm etc - buggered!

Bit of re-wiring needed also.

:lol: reminds me off the time i gave my friend a jump start.

He had a jap import and the terminals are opposite colour to european batteries and had no markings :shock: .

Anyway, we connected them up, and stood back to watch the Fireworks show, still scratching our heads and watching as the terminal covers melted and caught fire.

Melted plastic like candle wax everywhere lucky nothing else went up in smoke.

lesson learnt..

a friend of a friend a few years back was cutting up a car with a grinder (dodgy bugger i dont think the car was his to chop up) sadly at the point at the edge of the roof the grinder dug in on the double skin section. and when he yanked it out the momentum of the grinder sent it towards his balls. of which he now has only one. it had the same kind of incedent at work with a nine inch grinder. didnt lose a ball but it went into my knee cap like a knife through butter. in three years at that workplace i ended up at the hosi four times. crap in the eye, grinder incendent, dropped a blaster door on my foot and crushed my toe cap into my foot, and the last time i swallowed a can ring pull (they insisted i went due to my unfortunate nickname of dangerous brian). you could say ivehad to learn from my mistakes or id probably be dead by now
