Hi guys

I've got an engine to go in my bus, but I've just realised the moustache bar won't fit with the exhaust I've got. I believe it's a turbo Thomas with hideaway silencer.

Just wondering what options are. What you are guys running? Is there another way of supporting the engine?

I'm new to buses, so not sure what's available.

Cheers
Dan

Should probably add it's a 2332 type 1, so I need something to suite that.

Modify a brace bar to suit,

A lot of folk use the centre section from a late bay and the ends from an early bay to make one bar.

Alternatively sell the exhaust that is on it which is probably designed for a beetle, maybe a split (neither have rear brace bars) and buy one designed to work with a Bus.

You will need the brace bar with a big motor.

I would also recommend trying to get a gearbox with the ears so you can fabricate in a mid mount too, a 2332cc is a lot of torque for just the rubber nose cone mount and the rear brace bar mounts.

Yeah it was in a split before. That's good to know. I'll probably source a late bay bar then to modify. Which boxes would I be looking at then to get a mid mount on there.

My bar was modded previously but I am thinking about doing the the centre section from a Late and Early ends trick.

I did see that someone was thinking about making them but not heard any more
