Hi,

Due to a number of things - all pretty much beyond my control - for possibly the first time in my life I'm letting my head rule my heart and being sensible.

What I'm trying to say is that I have to be realistic and re-prioritise my life and its assets, and as such my beloved bus could well be my initial sacrifice.

I have a partial build thread located here:
http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17503&start=0&hilit=twin+slider

I have receipts for the rebuild to date (including parts/panels/welding/new wiring loom etc), and the bus also has a weedeater, CSP disks, T2d dropped spindles & adjustable spring-plates. In other words I won't let the bus go for any 'cheap' or 'cheeky' offers :)

Amongst other things I also have a strong 1776 (which ran low 15's in a bug) which is currently stripped as it was being lined up for rebuild to 2007 (have a CB 78mm crank) - but I don't have a value for this at the moment.

Drop me a PM if you're interested - although the bus is currently in storage, but it will soon be making it's way back to me (in KT12, Surrey).

Anyway, I'd best go now, before I depress myself further and and jump off the nearest bridge LOL!!

Cheers,

Mike

Very difficult to price up really...

What I do know is how much I've laid out - in terms of buying & shipping the bus (from Holland), replacement body panels, new parts, labour, paint & sundries - to get the bus to the stage where its at now.

And I would put this figure at 9k - not including my 1776/2007.

:?

I guess 9k might sound expensive - especially as the bus still needs painting and refitting, but when you consider I bought it for 2200 (+600 shipping) and have put into it another 5.5k+ (bodywork & panels) - not to mention the weedeater, dropped spindles, adjustable spring plates, CSP discs, new wiring loom etc...

So, it does all add up and kinda makes some sense... I think LOL!!

Anyway... A decent offer will get yourself a fully sorted Feb 68 deluxe twin slider that just needs paint & refit - and I know of only one other 68 deluxe twin slider in this country :)

Shame mate GREAT shame !

I know dude... But life goes on - even without a bus LOL!

Speaking of which, the bus will be back in the KT12 area soon - very handy for viewing while at the Volksworld show :) Man, that was a shameless bump hahaha!

Too expensive? Too cheap? Too much work?

Sell the shiny bits (weedeater, suspension, CSP etc) separately?

Any interest/suggestions?

Keep the bus and nip down the dock yards and sell your arse, the pains gotta be worth it.....

Thanks dude, but I'd prefer for my dignity - amongst other things - to remain intact LOL!

I am still searching out for a bodyshop/painter that could take on the bus before June - and if so, there's a chance I'll keep the bus... But let's see ;)

hi dude, didnt realise how far your bus had come along till i just looked at the thread. looks nice and has the potential to be a great rare bus. its hard to make a decision to sell as when you get so far in the only choice is to see it through. hope you get a decent price for it and hope to see you dip in again later down the line when things are better :D

Cheers Andy. TBH there's so much going on in my world right now I don't know whether I'm coming or going :( One minute I think I can keep the bus and see it through - then the next it's all doom and gloom  Ah well, things will sort themselves out I guess :)

And hey, if anyone has an Audi S5 they'd like to swap for my bus... get in touch :D

For those interested in viewing, the bus will be back with me (in Surrey, KT12) from Monday morning :)

Through luck - or fate - I've found a painter (local!) that can take on the bus AND complete the paintwork before end of April!

So it's game on for the bus again... Feck it if it makes me skint, and I have the baliff's after me LOL!!
